Meet Dr. Watts

Dr. James “Dusty” Watts graduated from Northwest Rankin High School and received his BS degree from Belhaven University. Dr. Watts received his DMD degree from University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in 2000.
Following graduation from UMC, Dr. Watts entered the United States Air Force where he was assigned to Ramstein AB, Germany. He practiced general dentistry for five years.
Dr. Watts completed two years of specialty training in Endodontics at University of Texas Health Science Center and Wilford Hall (USAF) Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. Following his specialty training, Dr. Watts’ research resulted in two publications in the Journal of Endodontics. Dr. Watts served as Chief of Endodontics and Support Flight Commander at Andrews AFB, MD. While at Andrews, he was responsible for teaching Endodontics to eighteen dental residents. While serving on active duty, Dr. Watts received the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and two Air Force Commendation Medals.
After ten years of active military service, Dr. Watts and his family moved back home to Brandon, MS. Dr. Watts continues to teach Endodontics as a Reservist at Keesler AFB, MS. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, and the Mississippi Dental Association. Dr. Watts and his wife Carrie have three sons.
